Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday Returns

July 23, 2026

Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday is here! From July 20 through August 20, 2026, Florida families can save on a variety of qualifying back-to-school essentials, including clothing, footwear, school supplies, learning aids, and select computers and accessories. It’s the perfect time to stock up on everything you need for the new school year while enjoying tax-free savings.

What’s Included in the Tax Holiday:

School Supplies (priced at $50 or less):

  • Binders, notebooks, pens, pencils
  • Lunch boxes, folders, glue, rulers, scissors

Clothing and Footwear (priced at $100 or less):

  • Shirts, pants, dresses, skirts, shorts
  • Shoes, boots, sandals
  • Accessories like belts, hats, gloves, scarves
  • Backpacks and diaper bags (excluding briefcases and suitcases)

Learning Aids (priced at $30 or less):

  • Flashcards, puzzle books, search-and-find books
  • Interactive books and toys that support reading or math

Personal Computers and Accessories (priced at $1,500 or less):

  • Laptops, desktops, tablets, e-readers
  • Printers, flash drives, headphones
  • Must be for noncommercial home or personal use

Online Purchases Also Qualify: Items ordered online during the holiday are tax-exempt if accepted for immediate shipment, even if delivered later.

This initiative is part of a broader $2 billion tax relief package signed into law earlier this year, which includes multiple targeted sales tax holidays and the permanent repeal of the Business Rent Tax.
