Major Regional Events Impacting Traffic in the Area
Two major events this weekend, November 14–16, are expected to cause significant traffic congestion in and around Bal Harbour Village. Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
1. Lane Closures in Sunny Isles Beach (Bentley Residences Construction)
The City of Sunny Isles Beach has authorized full weekend lane closures on Collins Avenue (SR A1A), reducing traffic to one lane in each direction between Sunny Isles Boulevard (SR 826) and 193 Street to accommodate concrete deliveries for the Bentley Residences Tower.
- Start: Friday, November 14 at 6:00 p.m.
- End: Sunday, November 16 at 4:00 p.m.
Heavy congestion is anticipated, particularly in the northbound direction, which may extend southward toward Bal Harbour.
2. Oceanman International Open Water Swim – Haulover Park
Haulover Park will host Oceanman, a globally recognized open water swim competition, for its first-ever U.S. event. The three-day event is expected to attract thousands of participants and spectators.
- Friday, November 14: Participant check-in
- Saturday, November 15 & Sunday, November 16: Competitive races, including the signature 10K “Oceanman” swim
Traffic delays are expected along Collins Avenue and access roads near Haulover Park due to the scale of the event.
