The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) will be performing an upgrade improvement project at its Preston Water Treatment Plant beginning Sunday, November 5. As a result, the northern portion of Miami-Dade County may temporarily experience intermittent periods of lower-than-normal water pressure for up to seven days. The department will undertake mitigating efforts to decrease the impact to customers.
Scheduled Impact Period – November 5 – 11.
Upgrade projects such as this are a part of the department’s $7.8 billion Capital Improvement Program (CIP), which future-proofs and hardens department infrastructure and allows for improved service delivery and reliability.
