
Sidewalks
The Public Works & Beautification Department (PWB) is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and cleanliness of all sidewalks, walkways, and decorative pavers within the Village. This includes:
- Decorative crosswalks
- Pavers near Herman B. Fultz Bridge
- Streets and sidewalks at the entrance and within the gated residential community
- ADA pedestrian sidewalk light indicators for safe accessibility
Sidewalks are inspected quarterly for cracks, uneven surfaces, or hazards and are pressure-washed on a normal basis
Note: Asphalt along Collins Avenue, Harding Avenue, and 96th Street is maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
Streetlights & Traffic Signals
- Village-wide streetlights: Maintained by PWB Facility/Beautification team
- Traffic signals: Maintained by Miami-Dade Traffic Signals & Signs Division (TS&S)
- Street signs on State roads: Maintained by Miami Dade County Public Works (FDOT)
ADA Accessibility Features
- ADA ramps at all corners. Maintained by PWB
- Tactile warning surfaces at crosswalks. Maintained by Florida Dept of Transportation (FDOT)
- ADA pedestrian sidewalk light indicators maintained by PWB
Safety Tips for Pedestrians
- Be mindful of uneven surfaces, cracks, or obstructions
- Avoid walking through standing water or puddles on sidewalks
- Always use crosswalks and ADA-compliant pathways
Reporting Sidewalk & Streetlight Issue
Residents can report damage or hazards to Public Works & Beautification by providing:
- Photo of the issue
- Exact location or address
- Optional description of the hazard
