Mayor Jeffrey P. Freimark represents District 2 on the Bal Harbour Village Council. A Miamian from an early age, Jeffrey Freimark earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida in 1976. While attending school, he held management positions at local Montgomery Ward stores. Jeff left Florida for New York after graduation, where he earned his MBA from New York University Stern School of Business in 1980, followed by a JD from New York Law School in 1984.
Jeff’s career in finance and administration began before he finished school, starting at Abraham & Strauss in 1976 as a senior accountant. Over the next two decades, he held various senior positions within regional retail supermarket chains, culminating in his role as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Grand Union Company, a $2.3 billion public corporation operating full service retail supermarkets in the Northeast United States.
Jeff has served most recently as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for OfficeMax, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Chief Information Officer for Beverly Enterprises and Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and Chief Information Officer for Intelsat, the largest operator of commercial satellites in the world. He is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Miami Jewish Health.
Jeff holds CPA licenses in Florida as well as New Jersey, where he is also licensed to practice law.
A member of the American Bar Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants among many other associations. Jeff and his wife Hollis are the parents of 2 adult children.
