(as of June 14, 2024, 9:15 a.m.) Miami-Dade County issued a Declaration of Local Emergency due to unprecedented rainfall and flooding that occurred on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, and remains in effect. Scattered showers are expected through early Friday afternoon and are forecasted to continue through the weekend. Due to the rainfall received over the last few days, a flood watch remains in effect for our area.
Impacts to the Village were minimal, and the Public Works and Beautification Department has mobilized crews to clear any remaining debris. However, flooding is impacting several areas of South Florida. Residents are urged to stay home and avoid traveling through flooded areas.
Village Services & Updates
- Village Hall remains closed on Friday, June 14. The Bal Harbour Police Department remains operational.
- Exterior amenities at the Bal Harbour Waterfront Park have reopened for normal operating hours (7 a.m. – 8 p.m.) weather permitting as of Friday, June 14. The community center and interior amenities will remain closed.
- FREEBEE transportation service has been suspended until further notice.
- Solid waste pickup has resumed service as of Friday morning.
- The Public Works & Beautification Department has mobilized crews to clear any remaining debris.
- All roads within the Village remain passable at this time. Residents are encouraged to stay home if possible. If you must travel, please avoid the right lanes where flooding is most likely to occur.
