Stormwater

The Stormwater Division operates the Village’s stormwater system in coordination with the Miami-Dade County Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). The Division manages two pump stations that handle about 50% of the Village’s stormwater; the remaining 50% flows through outfalls and French drainage systems. Stormwater systems along Collins Avenue, Harding Avenue, and 96th Street are maintained by the Florida Department of Transportation.

DERM, FDEP, and the Village work together to prevent stormwater from polluting the surrounding waterways. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is by keeping streets clean and free of debris before rainstorms.
